A depiction of art in the Moghul period, India:
A Muslim sovereign presents himself to his subjects appearing in the “darbar” (ruler’s “noble” court). He is seen seated on a raised platform.
The painting was acquired from a collector, in London, in 1985. It has a little, and not really noticeable, tear (about 1”) on the dark border of the painting. The frame was hand-crafted in Switzerland, at that time, to match the painting.
